Yesterday marked 8 weeks to due date!
We enjoyed the hospital tour on Thursday night. We were able to see all the areas of the maternity ward - making the experience more real! I know Dave was enlightened by some of the things we learned in the birthiing room. I'm lucky that I have a husband who is VERY interested in the whole birth experience...in fact, I think he's really excited about it! While the sight of blood and other "unmentionables" make most cringe, it has the opposite effect on Dave.
We were pleased with our pediatrician appointment on Friday. The practice is comprised of 4 doctors, one of which we'll eventually choose as our primary doc. We were warmly greeted by the office staff - which made us feel right at home. They do have evening and weekend hours, which was high on our list of priorities. All is all, we're pleased with our choice.
As for our weekend, we got lots lots of our outdoor projects completed. Dave finished the gate for our fence - so that project, minus staining, is done!! He did a great job and Brutus is loving the freedom of roaming the backyard. While the added freedom allows him to run around, he prefers to find a sunny patch of grass to take a nap...typical Basset! We planted flowers, trimmed shrubs and did some minor weeding. All that's left is mulching, which we'll tackle on another weekend. We got our deck ready for summer, hanging windchimes and getting our tiki torches refilled. We're now officially open for business and ready to have visitors! :)
Yesterday we went to the South Euclid Memorial Day parade that passes right by our neighborhood. We've missed it the past 2 years and decided we needed to make it a priority to attend this year. All in all, it was your average community Memorial Day parade. Of course, I enjoyed the marching band the best, particularly the percussion section! I think Dave just enjoyed being an attendee at the parade after many of years of marching in them.
We finally relaxed on our deck last evening before starting another work week. Have a great week!

30 Week Appointment
The saying "no news is good news" is the theme of this post! I had my 30 week appointment this morning...and everything is looking good! My blood pressure is great and my uterus is measuring right on track. Not much more to report - which is good. I'm scheduled to go every 2 weeks from now until the first week in July where I'll go weekly until our little one arrives!

T-9 Weeks
We've been so busy lately that we've neglected our blog! We had the pleasure of hosting our 2 nieces for the weekend 2 weeks ago. We had lots of fun - playing at parks, picnicing and enjoying the sunshine. Last weekend was spent celebrating our Mother's. This past weekend we tackled some much needed Spring cleaning (yes, we're behind). Dave also worked dilligently on the backyard fencing project. By this weekend, Brutus will have the freedom to explore the backyard without a leash. Yesterday, Dave and his sister ran the Cleveland 10K - so we were up and out the door by 5:45 a.m.. They both did great!! That brings us to today - where we're exactly 10 weeks away from our due date. Realizing how quickly the past few weeks have flown makes us realize how quickly 10 weeks will pass!
This week is full of "Baby" events. I have a doctor's apointment this Wednesday and while it doesn't feel like it's been almost a month, it has! On Thursday night, we'll tour the hospital and have a general Q&A session with a pediatrician and labor and delivery nurse. Then Friday, we are going to meet with 3 of the 4 pediatricians in the practice we've chosen for our little one. This baby of ours is already keeping us busy... and we love it! :)
I'm feeling great and loving every moment of this pregnancy! Dave is enjoying feeling our little one dance around...at all hours of the day. We've determined that our baby needs very little sleep and is quite active...not sure how we feel about that! ;-) All in all, we feel blessed by God's goodness and cannot wait for the next 9 weeks to pass!
We do have updated belly pictures to post - we just need to take the time to upload them! Check back soon!
